The Montecarlo is a hotel located in Rome's historical centre, near Termini railway station, next to the embassy and consulate district, which is only a few metres from the hotel; also nearby are the Umberto I General Hospital, La Sapienza University, various Ministries and government offices, as well as various headquarters of banks and private companies. Hotel Montecarlo is, among the hotels in Rome's historical centre, in a very handy location to easily reach, by public transport, all the city centres.
Metro line B (Castro Pretorio stop) is just 300 metres from the hotel, while line A (Termini stop) 800 metres from Hotel Montecarlo. The bus stop for Termini Station is 50 metres away and 150 metres away there are bus and tram stops directly to Piazza Navona and St. Peter's Square, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum and all of the capital’s other popular attractions.

HOW TO REACH US


BY PLANE

From Rome's Fiumicino Airport take the Leonardo Express train and get off at the terminus, Rome's central Termini station. The hotel is 800 metres away, continue as described in the '”by train” section. From Rome's Ciampino airport, take a shuttle bus to Rome's Termini station and continue as described in the “by train” section. To and from both airports, on request, you can use the transfer service arranged by the hotel. Costing 55 Euro for up to 4 people. For larger groups state the exact number at the time of the request.

BY TRAIN

Hotel Montecarlo is located in the heart of Rome, just 800 metres from Termini railway station. To get to the hotel you can take a short fifteen-minute walk or go by bus. On foot, exit the Termini station tunnel on the Via Marsala side, cross Piazza dei Cinquecento, take Via Solferino and cross Piazza Indipendenza. Then continue along part of Via San Martino della Battaglia and turn left into Via Palestro where at number 17/a you will find Hotel Montecarlo. By bus, take the number 36 from Piazza dei Cinquecento (the terminus) in front of Termini Station and get off at Via Palestro, the bus stop is 50 metres away from the hotel.

BY CAR

From all directions, get onto the GRA (Rome's Ringroad) and exit at Nomentana. Follow the signs to the centre of Rome to Porta Pia. At the square's traffic lights turn left into Viale del Policlinico and after following the ancient Aurelian Walls for a while, at the first junction turn right into Via Montebello. Continue for about 300 metres and turn right into Via Castelfidardo, then right again into Via Cernaia and right again into Via Palestro. You have arrived, Hotel Montecarlo is located at 17/a.

The Complex Vittorano and Piazza Venezia
The National Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, is best known as the Victorian or Altar of the Fatherland, since it includes the Unknown Soldier. At the exit of the hotel, head to the left and walk across Via Palestro up to turn left in Via XX Settembre, then turn right and drive along Via Piave, Italy intersection with Corso turn left until you reach Via Giacomo Puccini intersection with Via Pinciana turn right and shortly after a left turn in Via Uccelliera, along it will reach the entrance of the museum Galleria Borghese.
Piazza di Spagna, Via Del Babuino and Piazza Del Popolo
Spanish Steps one of the most famous and evocative of Rome is characterized by the great staircase of Trinita dei Monti. Turn right and take Via Syracuse for about 160 meters, until the arrival of the entry of the park.

Continue straight until turn left in Via dei Serpenti, continue in Via degli Annibaldi to arrival at destination.

At the exit of the hotel turn right and follow Via Palestro until the intersection with Via San Martino Della Battaglia, turn left and continue straight to the stop of the Metro B "Castro Pretorio". Take direction LAURENTINA for 3 stops and get off at the stop "Colosseo".

Trevi Fountain
The most famous fountain in Rome and the world. Helped to increase its world-famous film "The sweet life" by Federico Fellini.Realizzata around 1735 AD is the work of Nicolò Salvi and is still fed by the Virgin designed in 19 BC by the consul Agrippa. Turn left and take Via Rasella, after 250 meters turn right again in Via Tunnel and soon after turn left into Via in Arcione; continue until you arrive in Piazza Trevi.

Further down this famous street you will reach Largo Magnanapoli, go through the roundabout and continue straight until you reach Via Dei Fori Romani, keep to the left and lined all the Ara Pacis take Via del Teatro di Marcello, go all the way up to reach Piazza Mouth of Truth.

Just outside the hotel turn right and follow Via Palestro to the junction with Via San Martino Della Battaglia, turn left and continue straight to the stop of the Metro B "Castro Pretorio". Take the Metro line B1 direction LAURENTINA for 4 stops. Get off at the Circus Maximus, head to Via del Circo Massimo and after having traveled all arrive at the Romanesque church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin in whose portico with five naves is the Mouth of Truth.

Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and St. Louis Of French
Piazza Navona, built on the ancient Stadium of Domitian, built by Emperor Domitian in 85 DC , Is one of the most beautiful and famous squares of Rome, surrounded by the works of Gian Lorenzo Bernini (Fountain of the Four Rivers in the center of the square), Francesco Borromini (the Church of St. Agnes in Agony) and Giacomo della Porta (author the frescoes in the Palazzo Pamphili Gallery), one of the most important exponents of Baroque art. Walk (3.6 km, 46 minutes)
At the exit of 'hotel, head to the left and walk across Via Palestro up to turn left in Via XX Settembre. Continue until you turn right and take Via Antonio Salandra; continue, keeping to the left and turn on Via di San Nicola da Tolentino, pass the roundabout and continue on Via Del Tritone. At the end of the road turn right and walk along a stretch of Via Del Corso, to the junction with Piazza San Lorenzo and after about a hundred meters, turn right and take Via del Leoncino and after a few steps, turn left into Via del Leone. Go straight and take Via del Clementino, continue on Via di Monte Brianzo to cross and take the Lungotevere Tor di Nona, keep going until Ponte Sant'Angelo. Once in Castel Sant'Angelo, go left to the Tiber Castle and take Via della Conciliazione that will take you in front of the Basilica of St. Peter.
Public transport (4.8 km)

At the exit of the hotel, head to the left and turn right into Via Cernaia, walk along Republic Street and take a left, pass the roundabout and continue on Via Nazionale, at the roundabout take the first exit and merge in Largo Magnanapoli, continue on Via IV in November and continue until you cross Via dei Fori Imperiali, turn slightly to the left and onto Piazza Venezia. Continue straight and follow Via Dark Shops; continue on Florida Street and after about two hundred meters, turn left onto Largo Arenula Follow it in Via Arenula, cross the Ponte Garibaldi and you'll arrive at your destination.

The Galleria Alberto Sordi and Via Del Corso
Gallery Alberto Sordi (formerly Galleria Colonna), is located in Piazza Colonna and was inaugurated in 1922. After the restoration in 2003 was named after the great Roman actor, who died that year.
